Carbon Tax Opportunities Forum
Post Event Summary
As members and friends took their seat on Haworth’s carbon neutral chairs, we embarked on passionate discussion about what real alternative options exist for property professionals and providers to engage with organisations.
What opportunities lie beyond Greenstar and NABERS ratings which can enable organisations to be carbon neutral or offset their carbon using smart technology, which is already available?
Iain McKie from Beyond Zero Emissions presented snippets from the Beyond Zero Emissions report on how Australia could be carbon neutral by 2020 using technologies which are tried and tested from around the globe.
Peter Mann, Water & Carbon Group took the audience on a journey which touched on the importance of Sustainability from different stakeholders’ perspectives in leading global organisations. Insights were gained into what can be done to promote corporate brands and sustainability credentials using mixed property portfolio’s in a simple but innovate way.
The aim of CoreNet Global is to stimulate new ways of thinking and help bring a different perspective to engender thought leadership which members can bring back to their organisations. The Carbon tax forum was definitely one of those stretch thinking forums which was reflected by the passionate conversations held after the formal presentations.
One audience member was also lucky enough to win a Haworth Zodi chair valued at over $500. Congratulations to our member, Warrick Agnew! And, a big Thank you, to our host, Haworth for donating such a generous door prize.
